In addition to our regular Symphonies for Strings champagne concerts at Oji Hall, and our Dinner concerts at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan, (both public events), the Tokyo Sinfonia is also performing for private events (– special events, which usually aren’t announced to the general public).
We are happy to talk with you if you would like to hold a special music performance. The Sinfonia can be engaged for corporate promotional events (often for clients, business partners, employee motivation, etc) as well as customer loyalty ‘thank you’ programs. We have also performed at weddings and graduation parties marking such occasions as being very enjoyable, but most importantly, highly memorable!
Organizations may also consider promoting a charitable fund raising concert, centered on a beautiful and uplifting offering of the ‘music of the classics’ that is always sure to attract a discerning and influential audience. We thought that you might like to know a little more about these types of events, so we have listed a few of them here to give you some idea of these type of engagements.
Sangi Co., makers of the Apagard range of consumer and professional dental care products, celebrated the 25th anniversary of their business establishment with a banquet at the Imperial Hotel and Tokyo Sinfonia presented the evening’s elegant musical entertainment. The musical programme was based upon our very popular public dinner-concert series.
For their special event, corporate senior staff at Sangi Co., had requested that we include works by Takemitsu and Akutagawa previously performed on one of our FCCJ dinner-concerts. They had enjoyed the music so much the first time, we were told, that they wanted these works presented as a concert segment, before dinner was served.
This led into a 20-minute segment of background music, intentionally creating an elegant and distinctive ambiance for the enjoyment of the diners during the banquet. This music too had been specifically requested. For the record, the BGM included six selections: Air on the G-string (Bach), Autumn (Vivaldi), Cortege (Debussy), Jazz Legato (Anderson), Summertime (Gershwin) and The Pink Panther (Mancini).
Corporate executives had made one further request — that we feature as a concluding concert segment Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. This section featured our Tokyo Sinfonia violinist Tomoko Joho. As always Tomoko gave a stunning performance. It was truly impressive to see that all the diners had their chairs turned around and gave us their rapt attention.
Perhaps this is the kind of event that you might also wish to consider for that next special occasion for your company? We guaranteee it will be a very memorable performance that will surely impress and be long remembered by your guests, partners, clients and employees.
Equilibre , a leading executive coaching business is presenting Robert Rÿker supported by the Tokyo Sinfonia in a special leadership lecture-concert in the elegant Nexus Hall at the Chanel Building in Ginza.
Minato-ku has again engaged the Tokyo Sinfonia to continue to present Sinfonia-in-the-Schools performances at public schools in this area of Tokyo. Teachers say they enjoy just as much as the students themselves the way we demonstrate the string instruments, establish a dialogue with the audience, answer questions and actively involve the students. The programmes are fun for us too. One of the schools has asked us to appear at their open house school fair, so that families could attend our performance along with the students.
So let us know what you have in mind for that very special occasion. We can draw up a very special programme for you that meets your budget.
And the night shall be filled with music,
And the cares that infest the day
Shall fold their tents like the Arabs
And as silently steal away.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Day Is Done
